Aguada Fort :

Benaulim Beach :

Local Delicacies :
Local cuisines of Goa Are an array of exotic and spicy dishes of the state. Fish, rice and feni are the three main items that you can savour in Goa.

SOME POPULAR DISHES :
Solantulem and Ambot-tik :
Solantulem is made from Baby Sharks and the Ambot-tik is prepared with petals of tart Komum Solam.

Pork Vindaloo :
Pork Vindaloo is a concoction of wine ,garlic and local spices provide a distinctive taste to the dish.

Chicken Xacuti :
If you love a spicy dish, Chicken Xacuti is for you.

Baked Stuffed Crabs :
Spicy crabmeat is stuffed into the shell of the crab, sealed with a layer of dough and then baked to perfection.

Balchao de Camaro :
Spicy prawns cooked in a tangy shrimp and feni sauce.

Peixe Reachado :
A seasonal fish coated with a spicy homemade Goan masala and fried.

Treat for Vegetarians :
Try the Cashew Green Peas Bhaji (a tangy mixture of cashews, green peas, spices and fresh coconut), Sprouted Moong Ussal (bean sprouts with mustard seeds, green chillies and fresh coconut) and the Alsandachem Tonakh (kidney beans with a spicy Xacuti gravy).

Local Folk Art :
The major art forms of Goa include bamboo craft, brass metals, woodcarving, seashell craft, wooden lacquer ware and pappier-mache. Folk painting is another popular art form of Goa. The folk paintings mostly depict scenes from the epics of the Ramayana, the Mahabharata and the Puranas and also from the New Testament.

Set up by the Hippies in the 1980s, for selling their disposable belonging, today, it has expanded into a full-fledged market. You will find everything on sale, from jewellery to linen, electronic goods to motorbikes.

Saturday Night Markets :
live music played by the local bands, the riot of colour and light, exotic drinks and delectable foods offered by the bars, make your shopping experience much more of a night out.

Friday Bazaar (Mapusa) :
buy a variety of fresh ground masalas, spices, dry fish, fruit, vegetables, feni, choris ( Local hand made sausages) urak ( Local alcohol ) and cashews. Other items sold here are the leather goods, handicrafts, ceramics, linen and bamboo products.
